As a young coach just starting out, Dougie was always supportive of my work with Fiona and Kirsty, always encouraging me and his girls and praising our achievements. He was immensely proud when every new milestone was reached! He was the perfect “skating dad” to have around. Now after a lifetime in the business, I realise how special Dougie was in that sense but he was pretty special in all ways - and he always made me laugh. RIP Dougie. Hope it’s not five bad up there! ❤️
